The following news update was e-mailed
to our distribution list on 21st October 2003:
Welcome to the Sariah Arabians update for Autumn
2003.
It has been a busy few months. Easter
Psalm was gelded during the summer months which has made
him a gentler animal without spoiling his wonderful presence.
Sariah's Sarah has been bought by Gail and Roger Urwin and has
been schooled and is developing into a lovely ride.
Dylan was bought by Katrina Young, and renamed
Maleki's Magician, known as Magi. He is already around 15 hands
and is a gentle natured young horse with a lot of curiosity.
The big news has been that Sariah's
Shalimar was entered into the South East Area show of
the Arab Horse Society in late September. Shalimar is by Maleki
ibn Almaza out of our foundation mare, Cleothera. Shalimar
did brilliantly well, winning her class for Best Purebred
mare, the Merit rosette from the Arab Horse Society and Reserve
Champion mare. Sheila also won the Best Owner/Breeder and
best South East Area member - so a great result all around.
We had a lovely picture of Sheila and Shalimar in the local
Dorking newspaper, and will have details up on the web site
soon. Next season we are planning to show Shalimar and daughter
Sariah's
Sasha more regularly.
We were joined in the summer by Karen Padbury who has been
a real asset to
the yard and has settled in well. She has brought her horse,
Piccolo, an
Arabian, with her and he has made good friends with Magi.
On the social side the Spirit of the Horse evening was enjoyed
by Gail,
Karen, Katrina and Sheila at Epsom, and the SEAHS visit to
Caroline Reeves
and the AV Arabian stud in West Sussex was also very enjoyable.
We hope to
have another visit soon.
In September, one of the home bred stallions,
Sayyid
of Destiny, happily attended the Animal Service at the
local church in Holmbury St. Mary. Sayyid was the first pure
bred stallion bred by the stud, and was bottle raised in the
first days of his life.
For those interested, we will be running a couple of longer
2 hour and 4
hour (with a break!) rides on the weekends - dates to be scheduled.
We will
probably run the two hour rides for less experienced riders,
and the day
ride for the more experienced. If you would be interested
in either, please
let Sheila know, or email info@sariaharabians.com.
Thank you for all your support over the months, and if for
any reason you
don't wish to receive further copies of these email updates,
please let us
know by return email.
Best Wishes Sariah Arabians
